Middle School - Domestic and Sexual Abuse

Domestic violence can have a negative impact on a youth’s social and educational development. These effects can include anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, poor behavior, and deterioration of physical health. Youth need to have the language and skills to understand, communicate and take action in dealing with domestic and sexual abuse. ARISE curriculum below includes how to recognize signs of abusive and harmful interactions, who the victims are, how to speak out, how to protect yourself, and successful communication skills.
