High School - Physical Health for Students & Young Adults
Physical health encompasses a variety of healthy behaviors including adequate exercise, proper nutrition and abstaining from harmful habits such as drug use and alcohol abuse. For high school students and young adults,it means learning about their bodies, how to identify symptoms of disease, getting regular checkups, and protecting themselves from injuries and harm.
If teenagers learn positive physical health habits, they can decrease the stress in their life, lower their risk of disease, and increase their energy levels, which can lead to more success in school and in life experiences. Regular physical activity is proven to help prevent and manage diseases such as heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and several cancers. It helps prevent hypertension, helps maintain body weight, and can improve mental health, quality of life and well-being.
