ARISE Helps Educate Young Ladies in Decision Making, Emotional and Interpersonal skills.

With a generous grant ARISE received from the Rotary Club of Key Biscayne, funding was awarded to Jacqueline Louis, founder of Beautiful Beauties of Tomorrow, Inc., a Miami-based nonprofit organization that empowers young ladies between the ages of 13-19 years old to have future success while fulfilling their divine purpose. Their mission is to empower these young women in the community to have successful futures. They do this by teaching the girls that they can be the best while being beautiful inside and out. Their vision is to see every girl from BBOT be empowered by positive change in their lives as they become productive successful women in our community. Their goal is to help build our future queens’ self-esteem by providing them with Individual and Community Mentoring and creating consistent long-term relationships with their individual mentor as they learn to become strong successful women.

The money was used to provide the ARISE Relationship Audit and More for the Girls and ARISE Positivity Cards just for the girls to this community-based organization. The curriculum material focuses on minimizing social risk taking that is all too prevalent in girls growing up today. Girls participate in small groups and classroom discussion addressing a range of emotional and interpersonal skills. They easily understand and absorb the self-management and decision making skills essential for navigating the changed content of life in the 21st century. ARISE wants at-risk girls to understand that relationships are investments and like any good investment, are subject to “due diligence” (the care that a reasonable person exercises to avoid harming themselves and other persons in a relationship or transaction).  .It is important to understand the basic principles of a healthy relationship and by using the ARISE Relationship Audits and more for the Girls, young women will quickly realize the choices they make last a lifetime.

ARISE used part of Rotary’s funding to have several of the counselors of this organization take the ARISE online Life Skills Instructor training which teaches how to deliver the life skills lesson in the most effective way.  A Purity Ball is organized once a year where the young ladies are being presented to the community.

The Rotary Club of Key Biscayne advances the principle “Service Above Self” during weekly meetings and a variety of service projects and social events. This club raises funds through the annual Key Biscayne Art Festival in the Spring and the annual Key Biscayne Rotary Wine and Food Festival so that they can support a variety of social and charitable causes such as ARISE Foundation.
