Teaching Pre-Schoolers Life Skills to Create a Ripple Effect For Us All

In an article  on SouthCoastToday.com, Catherine Rampell recently wrote about President Obama’s proposed universal pre-kindergarten as a means of helping poor children catch up with their richer peers.  Read the article here.

ARISE provides a  life skills curriculum especially geared towards pre-kindergarten children.  Designed to nurture growing minds, the ARISE Little by Little Pre-K life skills books use arts and crafts and one-on-one activities to inspire young imaginations, build self-esteem and teach key life skills. Preschool children will love learning their phone numbers in case of an emergency, important safety tips, and early lessons on respect and ethics through rousing songs, games and art projects.

Since 1986, ARISE has published award-winning educational material written in plain, understandable English that is relevant to pre-K and kindergarten children and their caregivers. This information will promote social and emotional development.

Relevant topics include child safety and social skill development, as well as Family Tools to build family well-being and positive parent-child relationships. Drawing on over 25 years of evidence-based, national and international experience, the ARISE Life-Skills and Staff Training program has created interactive, comprehensive, child-centered curricula for building the capacity of at-risk children and their caregivers with need-to-know topics like safety, dealing with anger, building family relationships and much more.

ARISE life-skills lessons satisfy many of the Head Start program performance standards. See the ARISE special Head Start package which fulfills these standards.
