What Better Way to Celebrate a Birthday?
To celebrate his 84th birthday, Edmund Benson, Founder of the ARISE Foundation and his wife Susan spent time at JoAnn Bridges Academy, a Juvenile Justice facility for girls in Northern Florida. The Bensons surprised the 27 girls that are living there with a copy of the brand new ARISE Relationship Audits for the Girls workbook and provided the ARISE life skills group facilitators with instruction manuals for this new curriculum, all at no cost. After a discussion with the girls, the Bensons shared the 84th birthday cake with staff and residents.
ARISE Relationship Audits (ARA) focuses on minimizing relationship risks all too prevalent particularly in at-risk girls growing up today. During one hour ARISE group experiences youth are guided through structured, interactive discussions that specifically focus on developing the emotional and interpersonal skills girls today must acquire in their own best interest from childhood through their child bearing years. At risk teens participants easily understand and absorb the practical, self-management and decision making skills essential for navigating life in the 21st century with dignity and self-worth.
