One Day Seminar: Role of Education

REPORT OF ONE – DAY SEMINAR
ON
Role of education & skilled education in women success

On 2nd August 2010, we the Dorice Foundation and Evergreen Foundation jointly conducted the one day seminar with the women of grass root community of youhanabad # 2. Its topic was Role of education & skilled education in women success. The speakers talked about the importance of education for women and the role they can play to raise the literacy rate among that community. The special attention was given to motivate community for girls education as educate a boy means to educate a single person but educate a girl means educate a whole family. Moreover different skills were discussed that women can learn easily to earn money and raise the standard of their lives. For example sewing & tailoring, handicraft and candle making. It was also discussed how we can use our limited sources and through help ourselves we can start these programs with in the community, for that purpose resource persons would be find with in the community or some of members either paid by our organization or voluntarily, and ever green education center or homes of resource persons will be used as center.

The chief guest Mr. Muhammad Asif the coordinator of chief minister for health Punjab addressed in the last and assured his cooperation for both organizations for the activities to be run in the area. Food and cold drinks were served in the last.
