ARISE Drop It at the Door Training Can Last a Life Time
Take a moment to consider where our thoughts will be as we take our last breath on this earth. More likely than not, at that instant, disagreements, bills, petty annoyances, and other frustrating elements of our lives will no longer seem as significant as they once did. Thoughts of loved ones and the positive impact we had on our children and those we spent our days with would no doubt occupy our remaining thoughts. Whatever we imagine ourselves reflecting on during our last breath will almost always be representative of what truly matters to us.ARISE Drop It at the Door Training is one heirloom we can leave to our loved ones and those we interact with as we make our way through life. We will be able to positively reflect on these gifts we have distributed as we take our last breath. The skills learned during ARISE Drop It at the Door seek to expose and defuse common habits of thinking and flawed beliefs that can lead to a life of anger, frustration, and ill health. These are everyday skills those fortunate souls attending an ARISE training will put to use throughout their lives. ARISE draws on recent research suggesting that people can manage anger and stress by thinking in terms of their psychological strengths. It’s not complicated—quite the contrary.
ARISE lessons are simple, interactive group discussion exercises that focus on “not-so-new” ways of thinking. The ARISE facilitators introduce familiar ideas and discussion points that help attendees see that nothing prevents us from shifting our focus from what’s wrong with our lives to what is right in our lives. Choosing to react with a smile versus a grimace may not always prove easy; inevitably, there will be times when circumstances interfere with our resolutions. It is then that the ARISE exercises remind us to consider shifting our focus to imagining the final moments, those last thoughts, and how we want to be remembered by those whose paths our lives have crossed.
